Apple is ‘hiding’ features in the upcoming update of macOS Server, the popular network-managing app.
macOS Server is shifting its attention to focus mainly on the management of computers, devices, and storage on networks and as a result, changes are coming.
A number of services will be baked into the operating system and a number of services will also be hidden on new installations of an update to macOS Server coming in spring 2018.
They will be ‘hiding’ services, such as Calendar, Contacts, Mail, Messages, VPN, and others. These hidden, deprecated services will be fully removed in a later version of the software.
VIEWDATA ADVICE:
Those running MacOS Server app should not apply software updates to this app without first checking with Viewdata’s support team that the updates will not affect the running of their server.”
